Braided vs.
Mono Lines

If you want to catch
more fish and have more fun catching big fish, I'm
going to tell you exactly how to do it. Sounds to
good to be true doesn't it? I know what you're probably
thinking. How much is Capt. GiddyUp going to cost
me this time? The answer is nothing, nada, and zilch.
If you don't like my product recommendation, you
may return it for a full refund within the first
60 days. The new Stren Super Braid fishing line
is simply awesome. Based on my field test of this
great product, I think it would be very difficult
to keep a straight face if you say you don't like
everything about this fishing line.
The Stren Super Braid with advanced microbond technology
totally eliminates all the problems associated with
many other superlines. The exclusive compact construction
results in silky smooth round compact braid that
handles beautifully. I experienced effortless casting
with some serious giddyup. On my retrieves I could
actually detect the line touching tiny baits. I
can't imagine matching this line up against those
bait stealing convict fish with the black stripes
this fall. Revenge will be mine when the Sheepshead
run begins. I can taste the baked Sheepshead right
now.
My Father taught me a few valuable lessons in this
lifetime. I'll bet he told a thousand times to "never
make fun of the alligator until after you have crossed
the river." I just know after briefly field
testing this Stren Super Braid spooled for me at
Sunshine Ace Hardware in Bonita Springs (239-992-0169)
that the playing field is now even steven with the
fall Sheepshead run. Capt. Eric Davis of Extreme
Fishing Charters (239-707-7113) works in the fishing
department at Sunshine Ace when he is not chasing
fish with clients. He had this to say about the
new Stren Super Braid.
"Stren is so sure this new Super Braid will
be the best line you have ever used they are backing
the total performance of this line with a 60 day
no questions asked guarantee. It is the only line
I use. This new braided line casts like a dream
come true. The knot strength qualities are outstanding.
So far GiddyUp, I have not had any returns on the
60 day performance guarantee. This line is on fire
and if you are looking for a great high performance
line to fish the docks, bridges, and oyster bars
let me spool you up." Needless to say, I said
"GiddyUp and spool me."
If you are asking yourself right now what does Capt.
Eric Davis know that I don't about fishing please
allow me to share. Eric was a National Junior Casting
Champion as a youngster and I have fished with him
on the Award Winning Fishing TV Show Southwest Florida
Outdoors. This fall Southwest Florida Outdoors may
be seen on Fox4 TV at 11:30AM on Sunday morning.
Just remember, we air 30 minutes before the NFL
Pre-game on Fox4 TV. The action this year will be
unbelievable.
On the other side of the braided fence is Capt.
Kevin Holley. Kevin is the current President of
the Lee County Guide Association. He is a Power
Pro fan. I pump Capt. Kevin for fishing info all
the time and I asked him about his love affair with
braided lines.
"When I fished for Tarpon with monofilament,
I was re-spooling my reels every 2-3 trips due to
the stress and stretch Tarpon would put on mono.
Mono is very expensive when compared to braided
line‘s long life“. He then asked me, “Do you remember
the best day fishing you've ever had GiddyUp? Do
you remember how many times those poons' wrapped
your line around crab traps? Do you remember losing
any fish because of barnacles on those crab traps?
I want to land fish on my charters. Power Pro gives
my clients a better chance to land not only Tarpon,
but snook and reds also. Kevin closed our conversation
with a question, “When we filmed our Tarpon Show
for Southwest Florida Outdoors, how many fish did
we land?"
In order to find out the answer to that question,
you must watch the most awesome Tarpon rumble you've
ever seen this fall on Southwest Florida Outdoors.
If it is not the best show on Tarpon you have ever
seen, it is guaranteed to be in your Top 3. Southwest
Florida Outdoors’ first show this season will air
on November 2, 2003 at 11:30 am on Fox4 Television.
Try not to miss us and if you do please set your
VCR for some great local action.
In closing, all I can say is, "If I'm lyin',
I'm diein." Do yourself a favor and dispose
responsibly of your mono and re-spool with Super
Braid. You will fall in love. I guarantee it and
so does Stren. GiddyUp!
